Going Green: Eco-Friendly Mobile Tours

There have been several studies that who consumers want to do business with brands that are committed to going green. So, what does this mean for your brand and marketing strategy? Consumers are becoming more eco-conscious, which means companies should too. While many people think a mobile marketing tour can’t be eco-friendly, there a ton of ways to make your events more sustainable.

Utilize digital marketing materials: You may think that for visitors to remember your brand after an event that you need to supply them with loads of brochures, pamphlets or other paper marketing materials. However, digital assets can be just as effective and can ultimately help make your events eco-friendlier. Utilize social media and email marketing before, during, and after you tour to ensure guests receive the same information that they would if you provided paper copies of your promotional materials. Swap out traditional signs for digital signage, this is not only eco-friendly but also allows you to change out messaging to meet your needs in different markets. For lead generation, instead of putting pen to paper, utilize tables or kiosks to capture their information.

Sustainable giveaways and swag: We all know attendees love to leave your event with some branded swag, but how can you make it sustainable? When in doubt, stick to reusable items that can feature your brand and/or logo, such as reusable water bottles, tote bags, travel mugs, etc.  Being thoughtful about the swag you offer and where you purchase it can help increase the likelihood that it stays out landfills is and actually used by visitors long after your event.

Green Destinations and Locations: One of the best benefits of a mobile tour is that you can travel almost anywhere. However, to make your tour schedule more eco-friendly, consider choosing stops in centrally located areas that offer considerable foot traffic, like big cities. The more accessible the location is on foot, the lower the need for attendees to use alternative forms of transportation. Another way to help lower the environmental impacts of your tour and to cut down fuel consumption is to create an efficient schedule that allows you to hit your key markets but doesn’t tack back and forth. During planning, identify where you want to go and then create a route that features the least amount of excess travel as possible.
