Gather a Crowd: Increasing Pop-Up Shop Visitors

We’ve previously explored how to create the ultimate pop-up retail experience using mobile marketing and how it can help you better connect with consumers. But once you’ve created the experience, how do you draw in the crowds? Here a few tips on how to ensure your mobile pop-up tour is reaching your target audiences and drawing in a high number of visitors.

Do Your Research: One of the most important steps in the planning process for any type of mobile tour is pre-tour research. Based on the goals of your pop-up shop (new product launches, marketing testing, increase brand awareness etc.) you’ll need to do some extensive research on your target audiences. Where do they live, work, eat and play? What are their buying cycles and common purchasing behaviors? This knowledge will help place your mobile tour vehicle in front of the right people, in the right locations, at the right times, allowing you to reach more consumers during each tour stop.

Pre-Event Marketing: Social media can be great tool to use in tandem with your pop-up mobile tour. Drum up some pre-event buzz by sharing where your shop is traveling to, some interesting photos or videos of your tour vehicle, and more. This can not only create some excitement and interest before your tour even hits the road but can also help visitors to know where to find you, leading to more foot traffic and interactions.

Make It Flashy: A major benefit of a mobile pop-up shop is that is can be fully branded and customized, helping make your brand stand out. However, to draw in large amounts of visitors at each tour stop, you’ll want to ensure your vehicle designs are eye-catching to passerby. Customize the exterior wrap of your mobile tour vehicle by adding striking designs, branded graphics, and even interactive hashtags and codes to engage visitors before they even enter your experience. Create an exterior footprint with games and other activities that visitor won’t be able to pass by.
