Mobile Doesn’t Always Mean Trailer

When people hear “mobile tour,” they often picture a trailer hitting the road. And while that’s the bread and butter of what we do, sometimes a roadshow looks a little different.

For Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), mobile meant building a fully modular exhibition experience designed to adapt to venues across Canada. After partnering with AKFC on a tour in 2017, we were excited to support the launch of a new tour in 2025 — one built with flexibility at its core.

Instead of a traditional trailer serving as the exhibit space, this tour uses a 26’ branded box truck strictly for transportation, while the exhibition itself is installed on-site. It can be set up indoors or outdoors under tents, making it ideal for museums, cultural institutions, and community spaces.

The exhibition’s modular design allows it to scale to five different footprints — from 10’ x 20’ to a 20’ x 60’ full configuration — so the experience adapts to each location. You may notice it looks different from city to city, but the story remains the same.

This tour is a great example of how mobile means flexible — and at MRA, full-service means we make it work, whether that’s a trailer, a box truck, or a fully modular installation.
